We recommend splitting these daily guidelines into two meals. Feeding amounts are guidelines only and may vary based on activity level, health condition, life stage and temperature. It is important to maintain your dog’s ideal body condition for their long-term health. Since Solid Gold dog foods are complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter that balance. Be sure to offer fresh, clean water daily. We recommend your dog see the veterinarian annually.

Switching to Solid Gold Pet Foods: Switching to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Replace 25% of the current food with Solid Gold for 2 to 3 days, then feed a little more Solid Gold over the next 5 to 7 days until your dog is eating Solid Gold exclusively. This gradual transition will help reduce digestive upsets that may occur due to the change in diet.

Our GSP is obsessed with the Fit & Fab Pollock! She liked her food we gave her which is highly rated and used for our other 2 dogs for past 8 years but when someone recommended Solid Gold and this particular one, our ‘adopted’ girl (we’ve had her since Mar ’20 and she’s now 7 years old) keeps smelling the cabinet that the food is in, she keeps licking her bowl, she loves it and it’s been great for her, I was looking for more fiber in her food and this is perfect!

This FIXED my schnauzer mix’s sensitive tummy and even helps his anxiety. My dog Lyle was evaluated for tummy issues and tested negative for pancreatitis which is common in schnauzers. Still, knowing schnauzers are prone to have trouble digesting fat (and his DNA test says 1/4 schnauzer), I wanted to experiment with lowering the fat in his food while still keeping it tasty and high quality. The prescription low fat dog for pancreatitis and tummy issues is famously bland and unappetizing, expensive, not very quality, and can only be bought certain places with a prescription. Research led me to this Solid Gold and I picked the fish option because it’s less likely to be an allergen. Within a few days of mixing it 50/50 with his old food, I noticed a major difference in Lyle’s regularity and appetite. He’d been prone to constipation and poor appetite with rare bouts of diarrhea and acid reflux. Lyle is a high anxiety dog who was surrendered to a rescue and I adopted him partly due to my experience with schnauzers. The Vet and I had never been sure how much his digestive issues were due to anxiety. Lyle has only been 100% on this food for a few days (I phased transition) but already I can practically set my watch to his digestive regularity. This dog had real elimination issues that made my own life complicated because I never knew when I’d be running late due to his unpredictable tummy. Also, in addition to his digestive system evening out, his anxiety has slightly reduced. Don’t get me wrong, Lyle is still a dog with major issues (he was surrendered for a reason) but no one’s anxiety is helped by tummy aches. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement to his anxiety though. His ‘baseline’ is just a little better on this food and when you have a high anxiety dog any little bit helps. I’m very interested to see if his anxiety continues to improve in the next few months since it’s again it’s only been just under a week at 100% and prior to that he was transitioning onto this food for several weeks. But to be clear, I definitely noticed a big change starting at the 50% mark and it’s gotten better and better. We all know problem tummies can take a while to heal, so I’m hoping that after 6 months on this food I may notice even more dramatic improvements to his anxiety and he gets used to being regular and not having tummy issues. SO GLAD I found this food. I would highly recommend this food to anyone with a schnauzer or schnauzer mix dog who has noticed digestive issues.

I’m a certified pet diabetes educator. We have three diabetic canine surrenders in our house, and Solid Gold Fit & Fabulous Alaskan Pollock has worked extremely well for them with regard to both weight and glucose control. One of our diabetics is a Golden Retriever that had skin and coat issues while on cheaper “Big Brand” foods, but she’s much improved on Sthis dry food, (I assume) because of the Omega content.
Also: Many diabetic dogs are also prone to pancreatitis, which requires a low fat food as a preventative. They also need to eat their entire meal in order to make glucose management easier. Our dogs love this food, so finishing the meal is never a problem. So it checks two very important boxes for the health management of or pack. Great product! TY
