We recommend splitting these daily guidelines into two meals. Feeding amounts are guidelines only and may vary based on activity level, health condition, life stage and temperature. It is important to maintain your dog’s ideal body condition for their long-term health. Since Solid Gold dog foods are complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter that balance. Be sure to offer fresh, clean water daily. We recommend your dog see the veterinarian annually.

Switching to Solid Gold Pet Foods: Switching to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Replace 25% of the current food with Solid Gold for 2 to 3 days, then feed a little more Solid Gold over the next 5 to 7 days until your dog is eating Solid Gold exclusively. This gradual transition will help reduce digestive upsets that may occur due to the change in diet.

My 10yr old dog has a sensitive stomach and pancreatitis! I started him on this food about 6 months ago and have had no problems! My vet wanted him on science diet but I can’t give him filler food. He threw it up I will never go back to anything but this brand!!

The lower protein in this help with the start of kidney issues. My sheltie had higher readings at mid age, so started supplements and watched protein intake and found this food about 5 years ago. His levels have stayed stable for 8+ years. He just turned 16!! I know it is not just the food that helped but also the supplements and some luck also! Wanted to stay off rx food if at all possible and I have been able to do that so far with the help of this formula!

My Border Collie has had 3 bouts of pancreatitis, barely survived the first one. We both love fish, especially salmon. But the fat in salmon precipitated her first bout of pancreatitis. Switched her to a very low fat kibble and I poached low fat white fish or chicken breasts for her. Later, switched to home cooked rice or quinoa, with peas, carrots, with lean white meats, and the “Balance It” supplement and method, which was still a lot of work. Then purchased very expensive kangaroo kibble, made in Australia, which Millie liked, but which was a super hard & expensive kibble. Finally, discovered this Solid Gold formula with oatmeal, barley and ocean whitefish, with a fat content of only 6%. Millie was and continues to be very happy with this Solid Gold formula! It’s definitely a “keeper!”
